This week I submitted a new pattern design to Spoonflower’s contest “Flowers for Mom Border Print”. I was thinking about moms and how we care so much about our kids, sometimes maybe too much (?) so that we hover over them like a mother hen. But I think that by showing how much we care, we sow seeds of love which our kids will bring and spread on their travels in the world. So my design started out with a mother hen and her 3 little chicks- all different colors, because Mother Love does not discriminate! Next came the flower with a heart in the middle, the heart shaped seeds below the ground, and lastly all the heart shaped pollen in the air. If you’d like to see it and the other submission and pitch a vote for your favorite, here is the link: Spoonflower fabric of the week contest
The design is turned 90 degrees so that it can be printed as a longer piece for a skirt or curtain – the edge on the left side would be hanging down.
