Yarmouth Clam Festival poster 2015

It was an honor to be asked to draw the art work for Yarmouth Clam Festival’s 50th poster! I had such a good time making it- my intent was to capture the spirit of the festival which is such a community event. The YCF staff is always doing such a wonderful job making it run smoothly and coordinating all the community volunteers and everything else that goes into it. School kids, parents, and neighbors all pull together for this yearly occasion. All the food booths and parking lots are run by non-profits including school sports teams. The arts and crafts shows are juried and offer high quality goods. The festival is really catering to just about anyone with kayak, bicycle, and running races, The Carnival with rides and fried dough, music of different genres, clam shucking contest and more. I’ve enjoyed the festival both as a volunteer, an artisan, a neighbor, and now poster designer- all of them have been fun. I can’t wait for the festival this year in July – and I know a lot of other people have been waiting too; I love that the residents of Yarmouth have a good sense of humor: in January with snow piled high along all streets, someone put a lawn chair up on a pile on Main street with a sign saying: Come on, Clam Festival! Priceless:)

Make sure to check out the program for this years festival here: Yarmouth Clam Festival 2015                        and the announcement of the poster: Y Clam poster 2015

During the festival I will be in booth # 84 in the craft section- Welcome!
